Born in San Jose, California, Phillip Hua was raised in the city that would eventually become the heart of Silicon Valley. As a child, he spent his days wandering the many fields and creeks now replaced with redevelopment, fueled by the tech industry. He received his BFA from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
Hua’s work has been exhibited in galleries, museums, and art fairs nationally and internationally. His public art commissions can be seen in the Southeast Community Center in San Francisco, 19th Street Oakland BART station, UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital, Sunnyvale City Hall, and the cities of San Francisco, San Mateo, Dublin, Davis, and Palo Alto. His work in the collections of Google, Kaiser Permanente Hospital, Cisco, Bank of America, Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and the University of St. Thomas among others.
