DJ UMAMI

DJ Umami was born, raised, and is based in the Bay Area. She is currently a resident DJ for the San Francisco Giants and was a Golden State Warriors DJ from 2012 – 2021. The unmistakable flavor and fervor she brings to any dancefloor, celebration, or occasion, is how she splashed onto the local scene in San Francisco in 2008. Within a year of rockin’ the turntables, she gained residency with the prestigiously talented female DJ crew “Peaches”. In 2015, she secured a weekly residency for the radio station Q102 FM, and was recently a resident DJ for KALW.

DJ Umami’s rise in the music industry has included opening sets for Dua Lipa, Anderson Paak, Questlove, Outside Lands, SXSW, amongst others. She is frequently requested for corporate parties, having worked with Meta, Google, Nike, and Women in Tech, to name a few; and is part of the Creative Collective for Bacardí Ocho Reserve.

While R&B, Soul, and Hip Hop are foundational to her musical taste, it’s Umami’s ability to read the energy of a crowd and belief in music as healing that allows her to serve an eclectic menu of sounds. As a Filipina American, she hopes to bring more visibility to the craft, and inspire the next generation of women DJs.
