FenX, is an urban artist born in 1974 in the Hauts-de-Seine (92) department. He lives and works in France. As a teenager, he became passionate about street art: graffiti, hip hop, skateboarding. He created his pseudonym FenX (pronounced Phenix) in 1995. A rebel, he learned graffiti to challenge interdictions.
Rocked by the culture of the eighties (mangas, superheroes, cartoons), FenX let go of murals and urban spots to concentrate on canvas, a medium that allows him to perpetuate his creation. Artists like Lichtenstein, Warhol and the paintings of Crash fascinate him. He revisits the masterworks of the Pop Art movement and introduces reflections on society through hidden phrases, winks, or the title of his compositions. For over a decade, he transcribes urban energy onto canvas. His works are exhibited in France and various parts of the world, including the US, Singapore, Netherlands, Hong Kong, and Oslo.
