KALIE GRANIER

Kalie Granier is a California-based French contemporary artist. She graduated from the ESAG, Penninghen School of Visual Arts in Paris in 2006. Kalie’s paintings’ foundation is the wood tondi, which harkens to the tondo of the Renaissance, a relief based on the circular form.

What is at the top is like the bottom; there is no gravity but a central point, an axis around which the subject spins. The visual destabilization is strengthened with the lines of a geometric, crystal clear network and then with color applied using the neoimpressionist pointillism method. Whether looking from above or below, we are brought to forget our rhythms.

Following her second solo exhibition at Linz Gallery, Paris, in 2013, Kalie exhibited at OFF ART FAIR, Brussels, and at the Art Élysées, Paris, during FIAC 2013. She accepted a residency in Song-Zhuang, Beijing, China, the following year. Kalie’s work has been included in exhibitions in La Mouche Fondation with German sculptor Robert Schad. In 2016 she had a solo exhibition at Cheloudiakoff Gallery in Belfort, and in 2017 her works were featured in an auction by Pierre Cornette de Saint Cyr in Paris and shown in a solo exhibition at Blitzer Gallery in Santa Cruz.
