836M FEST | February 22, 2026 at The Roxie Theater
Building on 836M’s long-standing tradition of screening thought-provoking documentaries at our venue, we are thrilled to venture beyond our walls to San Francisco’s iconic Roxie Theater for the launch of our first mini documentary festival: 836M FEST. This inaugural program features two powerful films—Porcelain War and Prime Minister—curated by Annie Roney, founder and CEO of ROCO Films. Together, these documentaries embody 836M’s 2026 Metamorphosis theme, celebrating resilience, transformation, and the extraordinary ways humans adapt in pursuit of a better world.
PORCELAIN WAR

Showtime: 12:00 PM
Runtime: 1 hour and 27 minutes
Nominated for the 2025 Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature and winner of 48 other juried awards, including the Directors Guild of America’s prize for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Documentary, Porcelain War tells the story of three Ukrainian artists, working with porcelain, who choose to stay behind when Russia resumed its military incursion in 2022. Under the roar of fighter jets, they find beauty amid the destruction, showing that while “it’s easy to make people afraid, it’s hard to destroy their passion for living.”
Porcelain War was directed by Brendan Bellomo and Slava Leontyev.
Prime Minister

Showtime: 2:30 PM
Runtime: 1 hour and 36 minutes
Prime Minister chronicles Jacinda Ardern’s tenure as New Zealand’s prime minister, navigating crises while presenting a model for empathetic yet resolute leadership that has earned her fans across the globe. Winner of the Audience Award for Documentary at the Sundance Film Festival, the film was directed by Lindsay Utz and Michelle Walshe.
